Opportunity – Emergency Medicine (Full-time/Part-time)

Headwaters Health Care Centre is a community hospital operating as an acute and complex continuing care facility, offering both inpatient and outpatient services, as well as an Emergency Department with 24/7 coverage. With over 700 staff and over 160 physicians, the hospital is accredited with Exemplary Standing by Accreditation Canada. Located in Orangeville, Ontario, we are at the heart of medical services for the Greater Dufferin area and other surrounding counties. Our small town offers great opportunities for outdoor recreation, many thriving shops and restaurants, and lots of small-town charm. We are conveniently located one hour from downtown Toronto.

We are an 86-bed acute care community hospital with a Level-two, 4 bed ICU, supporting a catchment area of 100,000, with approximately 40,000 ER visits per year. There are over 60 local family doctors, 4 general surgeons, 4 obstetricians, 2 plastic surgeons, and subspecialty surgeons in ENT, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Urology, Internal Medicine, Hospitalist Medicine, and GP-Anaesthesia programs, with 24/7 RT support.

ER Practice Profile:

• Double coverage from 9:00 to 24:30 every day, and 8 hours of physician assistant coverage- 5 days/week.
• CT scanner onsite, with MRI scanner coming 2024.

Remuneration:

• Alternate Payment Plan (APP), and we participate in HOCC as well.

Qualifications:

• CCFP(EM), or current Emergency Medicine experience.
• Current: ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certification
