 We currently have two (2) positions available for Clinical Applications Analyst:

• Clinical Applications Analyst (Physician Systems) - Temporary, Full-Time

• Clinical Applications Analyst (Clinical) - Temporary, Full-Time

 

The Clinical Application Analyst is an integral member of the Regional Informatics and Technology Services (ITS) division. As a member of the ITS lead agency team, the ITS Clinical Informatics and Applications team has a synergistic working relationship with areas and stakeholders across the four-hospitals they support, ensuring collaboration and striving to improve workflow with system optimization.

This challenging position seeks an individual who is self-directed, analytical, and organized to fill the role of Clinical Applications Analyst. This role involves working closely with internal programs and departments to determine business needs and the facilitation of effective solutions that are consistent with organizational goals and objectives. The role will support applications development, operations and maintenance of clinical and non-clinical systems as needed.

This position requires direct communication with all the Informatics and Technology Services teams, other support services including the RVH Lead agency IT Service Desk staff, Local IT services desks, clinical staff, providers, functional experts, leaders, project managers, and other support personnel. As the Clinical Application Analyst, you will be proficient and expert in the modules you manage and support, and understanding of the complex integration between associated modules, associated applications, equipment and workflows.

Other key duties and skills required include:

• Analysis of user-departmental workflow processes and ability to translate into systems-based efficiencies through automation.

• Optimize application features and functionality to meet end-user requirements, create innovate solutions to resolve known problems or inefficiencies, and facilitate workflow processes.

• Coordinate training and support departmental trainers for application(s) and provide training as required for Meditech systems.

This role provides applications support for all Regional Partner Hospitals (CGMH, GBGH, HHHC and RVH) during core business hours (Monday to Friday) regular hours, off-hours and on-call support (off hours) as required. You must have access to reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license, as travel to support all hospitals is a requirement.

Education:

• Undergraduate degree or diploma in a clinically related field, health informatics or computer science or equivalent or IT related field and/or three years’ experience in Clinical Informatics and Applications Meditech Support Role

Technical Skills:

• This position welcomes those with experience in an IT related field or with relevant related experience.

• Demonstrated experience with Health Care Information Systems an asset, previous Meditech Expanse preferred

• Experience development and supporting system upgrades and informatics and applications projects and implementations

• Three-years application development and clinical support experience with hospital care information systems with an EMR

• Experience with Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) and electronic Provider documentation, including front-end dictation technology and applications and/or Experience with Bedside Medication Verification (BMV), Transfusion Administration Record (TAR) and Electronic Medication Administrative Record (MAR)

• Using industry programming languages (VB, JavaScript, C#, C++, Objective C) and methodology, develop tools to solve hospital business problems, an asset

• Advanced use of Microsoft office applications

• Microsoft Suite of Products, VMware, Windows Operating Systems, Mirth certified preferred, Biztalk, HL7 standards

Qualifications:

• Healthcare experience is required

• Experience working with highly integrated teams

• Consistently display behaviour that enhances the image of organization as evidenced by professional and courteous behaviour toward all customers.

• Demonstrated commitment to patient and end user safety, workflows and experience in regards to the HCIS

• Excellent customer relations and support service

• Experience and understanding of ITIL, Change Management and Project Management philosophies and methodologies

• Must be able to manage several projects/tasks at one time

• Project Management & Change Management Certified preferred

• Experience with business analysis and requirements documentation is an asset

• Experience with analyzing data to identify trends, gaps and information that can drive positive change

• Strong understanding of privacy legislation and application to systems and technologies in Health Care

• Understanding of a risk matrix and risk mitigation strategies

• Evidence of on-going professional development

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English

• Excellent skill in problem recognition and problem solving, including critical incident management.

• Self -motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Demonstrated contributor to a positive team spirit and attitude and lives the RVH Values

• Ability and experience demonstrated through positive performance appraisals, work history and attendance records.
