We are looking for a Physician Recruiter to work with our Medical Affairs Department to help us continue in our mission to serve our community with Kindness, Passion, Courage, and Teamwork.

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

Headwaters Health Care Centre (HHCC), in collaboration with the Hills of Headwaters Collaborative OHT and community partners, is looking for a Physician Recruiter. The ideal candidate will support the growth of Physicians into Dufferin County and town of Caledon and HHHC through various physician recruitment initatives. They will provide support to both current Physicians, HHCC staff and community stakeholders resulting in successful placement of physician candidates and improved satisfaction rates amongst current physicians.

 

  • Develops and maintains working knowledge of the health system and local communities to assist with candidate inquiries.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive medical staff and community health human resources plan, in collaboration with local medical practices to understand opportunities for recruitment.
  • Works with all partners to initiate and organize various physician recruitment and supports retention activities.
  • Maintains an active prospect list for medical students, residents, and locum Physicians.
  • Works as a member of the Physician Recruitment and Retention Task Force – Action Team, to meet Task Force objectives and leverage Task Force recruitment tools.
  • Assembles and distributes all collateral materials for physician recruitment and retention.
  • Facilitation of site visits for the community physician candidate and spouse/significant other. This may include but is not limited to planning for travel, lodging, meals, and welcome gifts, developing itineraries for physician and spouse and providing transportation, as needed.
  • Assists with Physician Recruitment and Retention Task Force and physician recruitment teams to develop a high impact, local physician website.
  • Assists in the design, order, stocking of physician recruitment and retention literature, packets, and brochures, as needed.
  • Continually develops and improves upon processes, procedures, policies, and techniques to recruit and retain physicians.
  • Maintains up to date knowledge and compliance with federal and provincial laws and guidelines, including Health Force Ontario.
  • Assist with the physician relocation, community tours, and other resources as needed.
  • Organize physician education and other recruitment and retention initiative events.
  • Provide monthly reporting to the Physician Recruitment and Retention Task Force – Action Team & Steering Group and broader stakeholders as required.
  • Participates in other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Commerce or equivalent, plus three (3) to five (5) years’ recruiting experience in a dynamic and diverse organization or an equivalent, combination of education, training and experience. Previous healthcare, marketing, or recruiting background is preferred with specific knowledge of the medical/physician community.
  • Superior marketing and public relations skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally to present practice opportunities in a positive manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior grammar and proofreading skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage at all levels of the organization and the health care community partners.
  • Demonstrate a professional and adaptable demeanor with internal and external clients, including administrators, physicians, peers, and support staff.
  • Proven track record of exceptional customer service skills.
  • The ability to multi-task, planning and prioritizing a large volume of detail-oriented work in accordance with changing deadlines. Flexible hours may be required.
  • The ability to work with minimum supervision, set priorities, and follow through to accomplish results.
  • Strong computer technology skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct Internet research in an efficient, productive manner.
  • Valid driver’s license required as well as a means of transportation and a willingness to travel as needed.

Hours of Work: Monday-Friday; 37.5 hours per week; flexible hours may be required.

 

Position Length: The duration of this temporary contract is approximately 12 months.

 

Hiring Salary Range: Compensation is commensurate with experience.
