We are looking for an Executive Director to work with our Hills of Headwaters Ontario Health Team Department to help us continue in our mission to serve our community with Kindness, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork

 

The Hills of Headwaters Ontario Health Team (HOH OHT) is a partnership of local health and social care providers who are committed to improving the health and well-being for everyone in Dufferin & Caledon. HOH OHTs Strategic Plan focuses on five aims, equitable health and wellbeing, health and social care integration, shared resources, partnership and accountability. 

 
Reporting to the HOH OHT Co-Chairs and Anchor Council, the Executive Director provides transformative leadership in the operationalization and implementation of the OHT strategy. The individual will coordinate all aspects of the development, implementation, and growth which provides oversight for all OHT initiatives. The Executive Director will purposefully partner with other leaders internally and externally to accomplish shared goals and system transformation.
 
Position Responsibilities:
 

Strategic Leadership and Planning:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans in alignment with the OHT’s goals and objectives in alignment with Ontario Health’s strategy for OHT’s as well as other governing partners (Ministry of Health, Ontario Health etc).
  • Provide visionary leadership to guide the OHT through changes in the healthcare environment
  • Integrates, promotes, and leads the OHT’s Vision, Mission and Values.
  • Translates strategic goals into practical actions.
  • Provide leadership to the Anchor and Collaborative Councils, including advising on strategy development and decision-making required for implementation.
  • Provide expertise, feedback and guidance to ensure best practice methodologies are applied to strategic and business planning projects and initiatives.
  • Identify, mitigate and assist in managing risks associated with strategic and overall business planning.

 

Operational Management:
  • Oversee and monitors all activities and reporting requirements related to MOH Transfer Payment Agreement including overseeing budgets, preparing year-end reporting, tracking progress towards milestones & performance indicators to ensure programs/services are effective.
  • Provide oversight to support all OHT initiatives.
  • Develop effective and collaborative working relationships with OHT partners, Ontario Health, the Ministry of Health and relevant internal/external stakeholders to ensure the continuity of relationships, information exchange, and for planning, implementation and operations.
  • Supervises and provides guidance to the other OHT staff roles within the team.
  • Act as a key point of contact for oversight, coordination of all OHT planning, reporting and communication activities.
  • Evaluates appropriate opportunities for participation in research or projects desirable and appropriate in alignment with Ontario Health’s strategy for OHT’s.
  • Through external networking and research, the Executive Director will conduct ongoing environmental scanning for emerging best practices in alignment with Ontario Health’s strategy for OHT’s
 
 
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaborative Initiatives:
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with healthcare partners, community organizations, government agencies and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to build consensus and drive collective decision-making.
  • Facilitate collaboration among healthcare providers to enhance care coordination and patient outcome.
  • Lead the development and execution of collaborative programs and initiatives.

 

Financial Management:
  • Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with the Headwaters finance team.
  • Source and Identify additional funding opportunities, secure grants and cultivate partnerships to ensure financial sustainability.
  • Initiate applications for funding on behalf of the OHT.

 

Communication, Public Relations, Advocacy and Representation:
  • Drive the communication of the strategic directions of the HOH OHT.
  • Advocate for the OHT’s interests at the regional and provincial levels.
  • Represent the organization in various forums and engage with policymakers to influence healthcare policies.
  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies to raise awareness of the OHT’s mission and achievements.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the organization, ensuring positive public relations.

 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Leadership, Health Administration, Business Administration or equivalent. Masters level education is a strong asset.
  • Minimum 5 years experience working in a management/leadership role overseeing a program/team.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive operational experience in health system planning / health or social programs such as hospitals, long term care, government or private sector required.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce positive outcomes based upon objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide, coach and manage teams with multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience implementing evidence-based practices and strategic planning.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work without direct supervision in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated project management and program development experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of provincial and local health care structures, processes, funding mechanisms and current priorities is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability budget oversight.
  • Experience working with governing board.
  • Strong understanding of Dufferin-Caledon communities and familiarity with capacity planning analytics, solutions and partnerships.
  • Experience at forging partnerships with stakeholders from across the spectrum of health care and social services enables you to see the “big picture” and anticipate opportunities that continually lead to best-in-class care in alignment with Ontario Health’s strategy for OHT’s.
  • As an employee of Headwaters Health Care Centre, the Executive Director is accountable to follow their policies and practices
  • Experience in strategic planning or follow through on delivery of strategic plans and priorities
  • Previous experience in an OHT environment, definite asset

Hours of Work: Monday - Friday; 37.5 hours per week.

 

Hiring Salary Range: Compensation is commensurate with experience

  • Contract End Date: March 31, 2027
  • Job Type: Full-time, Contract, 37.5 hours per week
