We are looking for a Health Informatics Analyst to work with our Health Records Department to help us continue in our mission to serve our community with Kindness, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork 

 

The Health Informatics Analyst participates with colleagues and partners across the organization as part of a larger information support model to our stakeholders. Reporting to the Manager, IT, Health Information Management and Decision Support, the HIA uses their strong Microsoft Power BI and broader Power Platform skills to translate business needs into easily understandable reports and visualizations. Working with local and regional support members, you will be accountable for gathering requirements from stakeholders to develop, test and implement reporting. You often lead solutions with an iterative, consultative and timely approach. You provide support to other team members in the Decision Support group. Your skills help influence and develop our approach to a Data Informed Organization and ensures data architecture serves our business needs as the organization evolves.

 
Position Responsibilities:
 

  • Serve as the subject matter expert within all aspects of MS Power Platform, collaborating with key stakeholder to ensure business requirements are understood and delivered in a standardized manner

  • Conceptualize, design and implement MS Power BI solutions and build automated reports and dashboards using appropriate reporting tools
  • Support or prepare routine reports for monthly statistical and metrics tracking for various audiences across the organization
  • Support clinical and non-clinical areas in the development of KPIs, dashboards, data visualizations, and reports (routine and ad hoc) for the purposes of monitoring and optimizing organization performance on quality, safety, operations, and planning.
  • Demonstrate a customer service focus at all times and provide data and analysis for various requests from clinical areas or related to projects, business cases and quality improvement initiatives
  • Use required internal and external data sources (such as Intellihealth, CIHI Portal, benchmarking studies, Discharge Abstract Database, National Ambulatory Care Reporting System, data repository and Meditech) in analysis as required
  • Ensure data integrity, quality and functional completeness and correctness through testing and validation of reports and Power BI scripts
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation to support team members, as well as any procedures required for end users

 

 

Qualifications: 
 
 
  • 4+ years of experience in Power BI Developer or similar role
  • Experience in SSAS, SSRS, SSIS or MS SQL Server 2016 or higher
  • A bachelor’s degree in business Intelligence, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Data Science
  • Education in health administration, health sciences, health information is an asset
  • Experience in scripting, automation and customization initiatives
  • Experience with hospital utilization data such as Discharge Abstract Database, National Ambulatory Care Reporting System and financial information preferred
  • Experience working in a Meditech environment is an asset
  • Knowledge of healthcare reporting requirements is an asset
  • Strong aptitude for critical thinking, analysis, interpretation and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete multiple assignments simultaneously and to adapt quickly to change
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication, customer service and team building

 

 

 

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Hiring Salary Range: Compensation is commensurate with experience.
