We are looking for a Systems Administrator, Infrastructure to work with our Information Systems Department to help us continue in our mission to serve our community with Kindness, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork.

This position is responsible for the implementation and administration of Enterprise Systems within the Hospital which consists of all network operating system platforms, electronic communications, on premise hardware infrastructure and ensuring the security and integrity of the infrastructure is maintained at all times. Reporting to the Manager of IT/IM the Systems Administrator is responsible for evaluating and evolving the on premise infrastructure and providing regular input and recommendations for evolving the on premise landscape to best position the Hospital for success. This position will be required to collaborate and communicate continuously with the IT and Hospital Staff to provide hands-on support in a variety of areas including cloud security technologies, communication, and collaboration tools, as well as providing help desk support for escalated issues.

 
Position Responsibilities:
 

  • Provides excellent customer service to internal customers by way of hands-on end-user support including level 2 and 3 support. Escalates issues internally and/or with external vendors when required to ensure timely resolution.
  • Models expected behaviors, supporting a service excellence culture:

  • Independently prioritizes and executes work, using the IT ticket system and team objectives, and proactively tracks and reports on activities and projects.
  • Strives to ensure highest level of secured operational condition and availability, in a proactive manner, in all the following areas:

o      Proactively manages the networks (LAN, WAN, WiFi and site Internet connectivity) and equipment including in-cloud and on-premises, in compliance with IT policies and standards. This includes working with ISPs and third-party service    providers involved with network support, installation, and upgrades.

o      Implement and Design network access controls including VLANs, ACLs, and Firewall Devices

o      Participates in developing the Cyber Security Framework and determining the security posture for the Hospital

o      Ensures availability of all network equipment, appliances and servers to maintain continuous operational awareness.

o      Maintains interfaces between monitoring, reporting, service level management and asset management. Investigates, diagnoses and resolves issues in the area of network infrastructure monitoring using troubleshooting tools and techniques    and referring to external suppliers when necessary.

o      As a member of the team owning the infrastructure and network performance monitoring solution, takes responsibility for the availability, maintenance, and evolution of the agreed monitoring tool.

o      To reduce security risks and increase overall stability on our IT systems, ensures regular patching across all network and server infrastructure, including patch evaluation, severity ranking, risk analysis, prioritization, deployment and follow-up

o      Provide end to end planning, implementation and support of a variety of systems on a Microsoft Windows Server platform.

o      Manage and support on premise virtualization technologies including VMWare ESXi, Horizon View, and thin clients.

 

  • Reports to IT management in a timely manner for incidents (including breaches) or significant warnings
  • Provides recommendations on the selection and implementation of new technologies
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities related to the IT Network Infrastructure services, collaborating with the appropriate Operations and Clinicals teams.
  • Provides smooth execution of network infrastructure services, by means of proactive communication, planning, following agreed prioritization of workload, focusing on the continual improvement of business availability and customer experience.
  • Provide timely resolution of problem and service tickets to meet Service Level Agreements
  • Performs other related duties and or special projects as required in the department
  • Promotes an environment that encourages and supports change using change management theory

Qualifications:
 
  • Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Computer Information Systems with 5 years of relevant experience, preferably with formal training and/or education with Microsoft Windows systems security and data networking (MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) or CCNA or equivalent experience.)

  • Professional IT Certifications, such as: Microsoft MCP, MCSA, or MCSE, Fortinet NSE, or VMware VCP
  • Support and ongoing management of SAN storage technology such as EMC XIO, VxRAIL, VSAN
  • Expert level support at the network level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security, VPNs & WiFi (Eg. Palo Alto, Cisco, Dell, Aruba)
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting a variety of virtualization products such as VMWare VSphere and Horizon View VDI. Provide escalated support services for virtualization technologies: VMware vSphere / ESXi
  • Experienced in organizing and overseeing the installation of data communications hardware and software.
  • Specialist skills in TCP/IP inter-network and L2/L3 switching design and operations
  • Support services for Microsoft related technologies: O365, MS-SQL, SharePoint, Azure.
  • Knowledge of Cisco and Dell Switching environments
  • Agile in thought and action with the ability to tackle difficult problems analytically and to make well-reasoned technical suggestions.
  • Technical experience with Windows Server including roles/features such as IIS, .NET, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
  • Experience Designing Backup and DR strategies using technologies such as Veeam Backup and Replication
  • Document maintenance for all computer systems infrastructure.
  • Lead IT Projects from beginning to end, design phase through to implementation
  • Administration and maintenance of the remote monitoring and management system: update agent scripts, respond to alerts, monitor dashboard, and periodic system review.
  • Communication with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes, or agreed outages.
  • Support disaster recovery solutions.
  • Business awareness: specific knowledge of the customer and how IT relates to their business strategy and goals.
  • Be on-call rotation
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.

 


Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Hiring Salary Range: Compensation is commensurate with experience.
