We are looking for a Manager, Diagnostic Imaging & Patient Registration, to work with our Diagnostic Imaging department to help us continue in our mission to serve our community with Kindness, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork. Reporting to the Director, Clinical Support Services, this position is accountable and responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the Diagnostic Imaging program. The Manager, is responsible for providing leadership and direction for the operations, management, utilization, risk management & quality improvement withing the Diagnostic Imaging program. The Manager is aal standards and supporting the goals and strategic direction of Headwaters Health Care. Position Responsibilities: Leadership - Provides leadership to the Diagnostic Imaging & Patient Registration team to support them in the performance their job responsibilities.
- Plans and monitors staff levels to ensure efficiency and fulfill the services offered
- Promotes, encourages and empowers team members to create an environment to support productivity.
- Participates in the planning of short and long term objectives
Quality Management and Continuous Improvement - Monitors physical environment in areas of responsibility, identifies deficiencies and recommends plan of action to address
- Oversees and evaluates technical aspects of the department with regard to services and programs
- Monitors and maintains Imaging services in accordance with established standards
- Participates in the development and monitoring of the budget for area of responsibility
- Completes departmental audits, prepares reports and other data as required.
Other Duties - Ensures the technical skills, quality assurance and safety practices of the team performing the various Diagnostic Imaging procedures.
- Participates and represents the department in internal and external meetings
- Keeps apprised of technical innovations, developments and best practices in the field and advocates improvements to policies/procedures
- Participates in patient safety initiatives and takes action to address unsafe conditions and procedures to ensure a healthy and safe environment.
- Prepares work schedules for technical and support staff
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: - Completion of a Medical Radiological Technology Diploma/Degree program with Canadian Certification of Registered Medical Technologists; CAMRT or ARDMS certification required.
- Member of the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in acute care in a community based hospital environment.
- Three (3) years recent progressive management/leadership experience in Diagnostic Imaging or equivalent
- Demonstrated planning skills (strategic, operational, business planning) and financial management experience.
- knowledge of hospital and radiology information systems and Wait Times Information System
- Strong coaching and conflict resolution skills
- Proven ability to interact effectively with physicians, staff, patients and staff
- Developed decision-making, research, creativity, critical thinking and problem solving skills to develop solutions and identify appropriate responses to issues or problems in the face of conflicting needs.
- Excellent presentation, verbal communication, interpersonal and relationship building abilities to foster and develop effective teams based on trust and accountability.
- Strong understanding of working in a unionized environment and with Collective Agreements.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Hiring Salary Range: Compensation is commensurate
with experience.
