About the Role Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer, this senior leadership role provides strategic and operational oversight for Finance, Health Records, Materials Management, and hospital‑owned medical office buildings. The Director plays a critical role in advancing financial sustainability, strengthening data‑informed decision‑making, and ensuring the integrity and accessibility of health information that supports high‑quality patient care. As a trusted partner to clinical and corporate leaders, the Director leads core financial functions including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, audits, procurement, and internal controls, while also championing excellence in health information management, privacy, and digital health optimization. The role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to organizational strategy, quality improvement, and collaboration across the broader health system, while supporting the operational and financial performance of commercial rental facilities located on hospital property. What You’ll Do - Provide strategic leadership for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and audits
- Champion excellence by leading and supporting high‑quality health records, privacy, data integrity, and digital health systems
- Oversee procurement and materials management in alignment with public‑sector best practices and with a focus on stewardship and transparency
- Manage the financial and operational performance of hospital‑owned medical office buildings
- Partner with leaders to assess risks, develop business cases, and drive continuous improvement
- Support Board, committee, and external reporting relationships with clarity and accountability
- Lead, mentor, and develop high‑performing teams, fostering engagement, growth and building strong succession and talent pipelines
What You Bring You are a principled and collaborative leader who brings both professional expertise and a strong commitment to public service and patient‑centred care. - A commitment to public service and patient‑centred care, grounded in integrity, accountability, and collaboration
- Progressive senior‑level financial leadership experience in a hospital or complex health‑care environment
- A CPA designation, with strong expertise in financial planning, reporting, audits, and stewardship of public resources
- The ability to translate financial, clinical, and operational data into meaningful insights that support decision‑making
- Experience leading or supporting large‑scale information system implementations and digital optimization initiatives
- A people‑centred leadership style, with a proven ability to engage, develop, and inspire high‑performing teams
- Strong judgment, analytical thinking, and comfort navigating complexity and change
- A collaborative mindset, with experience working in unionized environments and partnering across the health system
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday Hiring Salary Range: $161,421 - $181,779 We are currently hiring for an existing vacancy. Why Headwaters?
